Thumb Wrestling Federation crowned the most watched children's show in the UK.
Thumb Wrestling
Federation is turning into a true contender for heavyweight champion,
ranking as the number one kids show in the UK.
Broadcast
magazine reported that the TWF transmission on Monday July 14th was
at the top of the children's pile, above such other shows as Grange
Hill and Newsround (Barb ratings supplied by TNS Infosys).
Created
by Animation Collective, TWF is stripped across both BBC1 and BBC2's
children's programming and daily on the CBBC channel. The BBC has
bought all four seasons of the series, with the fourth currently in
production and due to be delivered in the autumn.
Licensed by Bulldog, the list of UK TWF
licensees is steadily growing, too. DVDs from Delta are on retail
shelves, while products from Sambro, Aykroyds/TDP, Roy Lowe &
Sons, Panini, Random House and Danilo are sold into stores for the
autumn.
"TWF has always had the capacity to be a real
winner of a show and having topped the ratings for children we are
ever more confident that our licensees have backed a heavyweight
champion," said Bulldog's Rob Corney.
